Volunteer programme · Hungary

Come and stay.
Help shape something.

Spend a week or more in the Hungarian countryside — cooking over fire, building structures, tending the garden, planning what comes next. Not a job. Not a retreat. Something in between both.

This programme is just getting started. It'll likely be just you, or you and one other person — working closely with us. If you enjoy having real influence over how something develops, that's exactly what this is.

What to expect

⏱️

5 hours a day, your way

Split however suits you — a long morning, two short blocks, whatever rhythm works. Total flexibility within the day.

🏡

Your own room & bathroom

A private en-suite bedroom. Three vegan meals a day, made from fresh, simple ingredients.

🤝

1–2 volunteers at a time

Small and intentional. You'll work closely with the people running this place, not get lost in a crowd.

📅

Minimum one week

Longer stays are very welcome — a month or more gives you time to really contribute to something.

The work

Hands-on and minds-on.

A mix of physical and planning work — sometimes the same day. The goal is variety, not monotony. Curiosity and initiative matter as much as physical effort.

Observation & research

Weather station, microscope, night sky — curious people find plenty to explore.

Two places to work

A village and a forest.

Most of the day-to-day happens at the main site. The forest is a separate project — wilder, quieter, and full of potential.

🏘️

Village HQ

The main base — in the centre of the village, with a shop at the corner. Kitchen, your bedroom, garden, and most of the day-to-day work happens here.

Common questions

Things people ask.

Who can apply?

Anyone. No age limit, no required skills, no gender preference. You need to be reasonably self-sufficient and genuinely curious about a different way of living.

Is there a cost?

No. Accommodation and meals are provided in exchange for your time and effort.

Can I come with a friend?

Yes — we host up to two volunteers at a time, so coming as a pair works perfectly.

Is it very remote?

The main site is in a village with a shop at the corner. The forest site is 4 km away — a short bike or car ride.

What language do you work in?

English. Basic English is plenty — most of the work speaks for itself.

How flexible is the schedule?

Very. Five hours a day, five days a week — split however suits you. Early bird or late starter, it's up to you.

Sound like your kind of thing?

Tell us a bit about yourself — when you'd like to come, what draws you here, and how long you're thinking of staying.
